MSS Colchester Kawasaki’s 17 year old rider Superstock 1000 Lewis Rollo had a difficult Easter Weekend at Brands Hatch aboard his Kawasaki ZX10RR struggling with front end feel. After qualifying 22nd and just .83 of a second off pole he managed to fight his way up to 13th in Race 1, before running wide at Paddock Hill bend and then re-joining in 31st eventually finishing 24th with a best lap time of 46.915 putting him 14th on the grid for Mondays feature race. His final position of 18th in the race didn’t reflect the huge amount work that the Team and Lewis put in over the four day event, but once again valuable data and track time acquired going forward for Thursdays BSB test at Oulton Park prior to Round 3.
Colchester Kawasaki’s and MSS Performance’s personally sponsored rider Danny Buchan maintained his Championship hopes on his Morello Racing Kawasaki ZX10RR, after qualifying on the front row for the 38 lap Race 1. Danny had a hard fought first race with Richard Cooper on his Bennetts Suzuki eventually finishing second by 0.112 of a second but setting the fastest lap hence putting pole for the feature race, after the red flag came out on the 27th lap for rain. With Danny collecting 11 points from race 2 after an epic battle with 5 riders for the win, he has over an 18 point lead from Ian Hutchinson in 3rd and is just 8 points adrift from Championship leader Cooper.
Next Round Oulton Park 28-30 April.
