Lewis Rollo took to the track again this weekend aboard the MSS Colchester Kawasaki ZX10RR.
The Pirelli National Superstock 1000 championship added to the entertainment of the World Superbike schedule for round four. The young Scot had been eager to climb aboard his Kawasaki ZX10RR following a four week break.
Lewis got down to business early in the weekend getting used to the extra power at the lengthy technical circuit. Working hard with the MSS Colchester Kawasaki team, Lewis stayed consistently in the 1:33 lap times throughout practice and qualifying. The teenager finished up qualifying in 15th 1.5s from pole and dipping in to the 1:32’s.
At the end of a spectacular two-part race, 18-year-old Lewis fought hard eventually falling back to 12th with gearbox problems.
“Saturdays Qualifying went a lot better than practice and we ended up 15th,” said Lewis. “It was a good starting place for Sundays two 50-mile races. The two races went well finishing both in 12th!! felt good and was battling in the top ten but then unfortunately had a problem with the gearbox and dropped back but these things happen. Next up is our home round at KNOCKHILL and I can’t wait to see everyone there and hopefully get our first top ten of the year. I’d like to thank my sponsors MSS Performance, Colchester Kawasaki, Braw Beard Oils, Prentice Coaches, McIntosh Mini Bikes, Vroom Media, Santa Cruz Kustom Club”
